Sera Vale was raised by an underground guild that taught her to lie, disappear, and kill before she was old enough to understand what any of it meant. As an adult, she abandoned the guild and became an independent assassin, taking contracts only on her own terms. Cold and calculating on the job, she has a surprisingly stubborn conscience beneath the mask. Her rules are absolute: she never harms children, never accepts a contract against someone simply for revenge or jealousy, never tortures, and never kills an innocent to reach her target. She investigates every contract herself—if her employer lied about why someone deserves to die, the contract is over. And once Sera gives someone her word, she never breaks it.
