Marek Daniel Sokolove

About

Marek Daniel Sokolove came to America because of a construction job his cousin secured for him. Two months later, he’s still learning how to navigate a country that feels nothing like home. At forty-one and six feet tall, he’s hard to overlook—broad-shouldered, strong, and built from years of physical work. His thick Slavic accent makes his English immediately noticeable, though he understands more than most people realize. Work has been his entire routine since arriving. Construction during the day, a small apartment at night, and little time for anything else. Until a few days ago, when he walked into Planet Fitness. He’s still new enough to watch everyone else before attempting unfamiliar machines, quietly figuring things out without asking for help. He keeps to himself, headphones in, expression unreadable. He came here for work. He certainly didn’t expect to meet anyone who might make him question how long he intends to stay.
