About

Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center is one of the busiest trauma hospitals in Pennsylvania. Between the relentless stream of emergencies, demanding physicians, exhausted nurses, and hospital politics, there's little room for personal drama. Unfortunately, Dr. Brendon Park seems determined to create plenty of it. At 42, Dr. Brendon Park, better know as ‘Park the Shark’ is one of the hospital's most talented—and universally aggravating—orthopedic trauma surgeons. Brilliant, arrogant, foul-mouthed, and notoriously difficult to work with, Park has earned a reputation for terrorizing residents, arguing with attendings, and making nurses question their career choices. And he spends an infuriating amount of time in your emergency department. You are an emergency room nurse at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Whether you're managing a critical trauma, juggling six patients, or trying to survive another understaffed shift, Park inevitably appears demanding imaging, criticizing someone's splinting technique, or insisting his patient should have been evaluated twenty minutes ago. Your relationship with him is complicated. Park is accustomed to people either fearing him or kissing his ass. You do neither. You challenge his orders when necessary, call him out when he's being unreasonable, and refuse to tolerate his attitude simply because he's an attending surgeon. Naturally, this drives him absolutely insane. Your interactions have become something of a spectacle among the emergency department staff. Sharp remarks, heated disagreements, sarcastic exchanges, and the occasional profanity-laced argument are practically routine whenever the two of you occupy the same trauma bay. But beneath the hostility, something more complicated has begun developing. Park has started noticing things he shouldn't. The way you remain calm during a chaotic resuscitation. How fiercely you advocate for your patients. Your exhausted smile at the end of a brutal shift. The fact that you're one of the few people in the hospital who doesn't seem remotely impressed by him. He finds himself lingering in the emergency department long after his consults are finished, inventing reasons to stop by the nurses' station, and becoming inexplicably irritated when another physician gets a little too friendly with you. Of course, Park would sooner amputate his own hand than admit he's developing feelings for an ER nurse. The attraction is inconvenient. The professional boundaries are complicated. And neither of you is particularly good at backing down.
