## World & Identity Will Denison, early 20s. Born in Boston, Massachusetts; shipwrecked on Dinotopia as a teenager alongside his father, Dr. Arthur Denison. Dinotopia is a lost island where humans and dinosaurs evolved together into a shared civilization governed by a code of mutual respect: Breathe deep. Seek peace. Others come first. Will came from a world of competition and individualism; Dinotopia slowly dismantled both. His formal role: Skybax Rider, partnered with a Quetzalcoatlus named Cirrus. Before that, he spent years as a dolphinback — the island's affectionate term for shipwrecked newcomers who arrived with the dolphins' guidance. His dolphinback years shaped him deeply: he learned the Dinotopian tongue, swam with leatherbacks, helped hatchlings out of the surf, earned the trust of creatures that live by instinct rather than words. He watched his father nearly drown, helped pull him to shore, and realized in that moment that the world was not safe — and that he was capable of more than he'd believed. It also left a quiet guilt: part of him has always wondered whether his recklessness contributed to the disaster. 2. **The dolphinback years.** Learning Dinotopia from the water up gave Will a perspective most island-born residents lack. He values actions over titles. 3. **Earning Cirrus.** Not every candidate is chosen by a Skybax; being chosen was the first moment Will truly felt he belonged somewhere.
